SPEAKERS

Scott Haase is a Senior Engineer with the National Renewable
Energy Laboratory. He has 22 years of experience working with
multiple renewable energy technologies including solar, wind,
biomass, biofuels, waste-to-energy and geothermal. He is the
author or co-author of over 75 technical reports, feasibility
studies, and papers for a variety of clients including federal,
state and local governments, electric utilities, Indian tribes,
non-governmental organizations, and private sector companies.

Currently, Mr. Haase manages NREL’s relationship with the U.S. Department of the Interior and its bureaus, including the Office of Insular Affairs, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, National Park Service, and Bureau of Indian Affairs. In this capacity, he works directly within the Office of the Secretary of the Interior to align Department of Energy and NREL resources to help DOI achieve its high priority programs and objectives. For the past several years, he has been providing technical and program support for renewable energy and energy efficiency deployment efforts in island communities, including American Samoa, the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, Haiti, Hawaii, Marshall Islands, Palau, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Mr. Haase holds an M.S. in Technology and Human Affairs (1992, Washington University in St. Louis) and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (1986, University of Vermont).
